All About Eloise

Eloise turned 2 1/2 in May. I thought about doing a half year post but thought I'd put it off till her birthday. I figured a yearly post from now on will do. I was looking through the blog and started feeling guilty. I write about Emery every month and I'm going to wait 12 months to write about my sweet girl?  Oh yeah, if she knew this Eloise would defiantly be telling me it's her turn now.
She is big on taking turns.  For instance after I change Emery's diaper she lays down and tells Emery it's her turn. She's pretty good about making sure Emery gets his turn too.

Eloise does not like to hear Emery cry. If he's in his bed crying she has to let me know. If she hasn't caused him to cry she does her best to comfort him. She tries to give him his passy or give him a hug telling him "its ok Endy".

She's still getting the hang of sharing her things with Emery. He of course wants to play with whatever she is playing with. So her solution is to push him away which causes him to fall to the floor. It drives me a little crazy how often I have to tell her not to push him. She always tells him she's sorry and gives him a hug.
Eloise loves all thing princess. She loves to dress up as them. (Thank you Aunt Liz for all the dresses!) Her favorite is most definitely Cinderella. If I don't hide the dress some times that's the only one she'd wear.

She is such a girly girl. She loves make-up and nail polish, purses and shoes. When she gets a new dress she has to admire herself in the mirror for a bit.

She loves to wear my shoes around the house.
She is really into back packs lately. She'll put random thing in them and carry them around all day. I love looking in them at the end of the day and see what treasures she's collected.

Eloise misses her daddy when he's at work. Throughout the day she'll let me know "daddy at work". When she hears someone lock their car she always says "daddy's home!"  When he does come home the moment she hears his key in the door she drops everything to meet him at the door.

Eloise likes to put the utensils away and the clothes into the dryer.
She likes to think she can jump rope. I don't know where this came from but if it semi looks like a jump rope she wants to jump it.  The cord to the vacuum and  the phone charger were the last we had to "jump".

She likes to play by herself more. There are times I go to check on her in her room and she'll be putting her baby doll to bed or playing with her princess castle. It's so sweet. She gets all shy when she catches me watching.
Eloise loves to play doctor. She gets out her big book of boo boos and scribbles in it then gets to work. She looks in my eyes and ears, has me breath in and out as she listens to my lungs with the stethoscope  and puts a band aid on my finger. She always gives the band aid a kiss at the end. She is the sweetest doctor I know!

She says every color is blue.

Eloise loves to make picnics. She gets so busy cooking the meal in her kitchen. It's so cute seeing her go here and there gathering everything she needs. When she goes all out she puts down a blanket and sets out our meal with plates, cups and utensils. Most of the time it's just a plate of food for each of us. She even makes a plate for her sippy cup "buzz juice" or "princess juice".
She is talking more and more but still has a ways to go. When she says most things it's only the first part of the word. The things she says most are: "my turn", "mommy hold", "hey! my seat", "no. no Endy" and "I more please".

Eloise likes to try to sing.  It's really cute.  She gets her microphone out and goes to town.  You can hear the right words here and there.  Her dance moves are pretty good too.

She thinks she doesn't need a nap anymore.  When she doesn't nap around noon she always crashes around 5 and those days are the worst for bed time.  When she does nap, she prefers to the couch.
Bed time is the worst time for me with her.  She will not stay in her bed and I have zero patience for it anymore.  I sing to her, let her look at books, I even sit in there with her for a while.  Without fail just a few minutes after I leave the room she's crying following after me.  She does eventually go to sleep in her bed but by morning she's in our bed.

Her smile is one of my favorite things.

We were so close to being potty trained.  She was having fewer accidents everyday.  She even went a whole week wearing panties, except at night and nap time, without any accidents.  I really thought it was going to stick.  Now she only wants to wear diapers and refuses to use the potty.
Those blue eyes!
Eloise is the pickiest eater.  She will not try anything new.  She loves chicken nuggets, pizza, cheese and bananas.  She loves junk food like crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows.

She loves the pool.  When I ask her if she wants to go swim she gets swim diapers for herself and Emery, their bathing suits and her floaties.  She cannot wait to get out the door.  She has to carry the key to the pool too.  She is pretty good at getting around the pool with the floaties on.  She's so cute kicking those little legs.  She's started saying cannon ball! and jumping in.
She knows how to make you feel like the best thing in the world.  I'll step out to get something out of the car and when I come back in she comes running so happy to see me as if I've been gone all day.

Eloise's hiding place of choice is between the table and couch.  When I call for her to get in the bath, brush her teeth or go to bed she runs to her hiding place.   She thinks its hilarious when she's there.

She likes to do a big booty dance.  She is so funny when she shakes her bottom saying "big boo!"  Then she goes around telling us we have big booties.
There's no way to express how much we love this girl!
