Emery is a year and a half old! My baby is quickly transforming into a big boy. I want to sit and cuddle with him but most of the time he doesn't have time for that. Too much to do and he is into so much!
Emery says lots of things. He'll try to repeat just about anything we say. His favorite things to say are: mommy, daddy, mine, shoes, sassy, I see, love you, where are you and found you.
He likes to growl at everything and everyone. He thinks its hilarious.
He loves to unwrap candy but rarely eats it.
He loves playing in water and stomping in puddles. When we're outside he runs for the hose and wants it turned on.
Emery loves to destroy things, especially his sisters perfectly lined up princesses or tea parties.
He loves going to the park - the slide, steering wheel and picking up the mulch are his favorites. He tolerates the swing when Eloise wants to swing.
Emery is obsessed with cars. He tries to get into any/every car he sees.
He knows where his tongue, eyes, ears, hair, and belly button are. We talk about other body parts but he only cares about these right now. He especially likes to gouge at my eyes. Not the most pleasant experience for me.
For the most part he is the easiest to lay down for naps and for the night. He's actually excited to go to bed. I give him his sassy and blanket and he'll lay his head on my shoulder. When I lay him down he is all smiles, he even laughs and kicks his legs as I tell him goodnight.
He is showing no signs of giving up his pacifier on his own. I'm waiting for his final two to either break or be lost. We aren't going to buy replacements anymore. He is so obsessed with them he'll have on in his mouth and carry the other around, switching them out ever so often. There are a couple newborn pacifiers he has to carry around when he finds them. He won't use them though - too small I guess.
Emery loves the bathroom. We have to keep the doors to them closed or he will be in there. He loves to sit on Eloise's potty chair. I take the seat out of it after she goes because I know he'll get to it. He sits on it, gets toilet paper and even goes to wash his hands when he's done.
He has started throwing terrible tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants. It's not every time he's told no thank goodness. I'm ready for him to learn that won't get him what he wants. I hate seeing him get so upset.
He still loves to eat. He loves peas, lima beans, gogurts and squeezable applesauce. He eats just about anything we put in front of him.
Emery is obsessed with cars. He tries to get into everyone he sees. He loves to push the buttons and turns the knobs. He opens every compartment he can figure out and makes a mess of them. He of course pretends to drive, making revving noises the whole time.
He likes to dance though he has no rhythm. He looks like the guys from A Night At The Roxbury with their head jerk dance. He is still cute as can be trying to dance.
He gets so excited when daddy comes home. When he hears the garage door open he runs to the back door to see him.
He loves "jumping" on the trampoline. He stomps those feet trying to get them up at the same time.
His favorite toys are his buzz lightyear, cars, trucks and dinosaurs.
Emery's hair is getting pretty long but I cannot bring myself to have it cut. When I don't fix his hair it's CRAZY but when it's fixed it's so cute! I don't want to lose his curls. I've been told that because the curl is so tight it'll come back but the thought of having his hair cut just makes me sad.
He likes climbing into things. He especially likes the laundry basket, Eloise's baby doll bed and the box to his Legos. He likes to dump out his trash can and try to climb in it too, though he's much too big.
It's exciting and hard to believe that in six short months he'll be a two year old. He is such a fun little guy. He makes me laugh and go crazy everyday. How did we go through life without him before? I don't know but I'm so happy he's ours.
