My parents, Bryn and the Olsen family took advantage of the long weekend came for a quick visit. I took them to the National Infantry Museum on Fort Benning. When you first enter the museum they have full scale models of the major wars we've been in. It's dark and there's gun fire in the background. Eloise was scared with a death grip on anyone who'd hold her and Davis was rolling on the floor pretending to be shot. It so funny to see kids react so differently to the same thing.
Bryn, Dad, Gary and I played the simulation game. Bryn chose the humvee as our vehicle. It was fun and super loud so it was highly recommended to wear the beautiful head gear we have on.
They also have a room in the museum where children can dress up as soldiers. They have all kinds of things to put on - uniforms, hats, vests, boots. There's a little area made to look like you're inside a tank. It has peep holes where you see the desert when you look through them. The kids always have fun in this room. This is Bryn's third visit to the museum. She's so cute.
Saturday we all went out to celebrate my birthday at Shogun. My parents had never been to one and had a great time. Eloise did not like the flames but surprised us by eating egg noodles out of my soup.
Bryn and Eloise had see how cold the pool was and turn the sprinklers on.
As always the weekend was far too short. I love having family visit!
